Okay, based on my brief perusal of my Birds: A Guide to the Most Familiar American Birds book, this seems to be a mama sparrow but I am not sure of the particular type of sparrow as her orange beak and dark feathers do not exactly match any photo I have here. Her body shape and size match a sparrow though.
What is that hymn about the sparrow? "His eye is on the sparrow so I know He watches me"...or something like that one. Beautiful.
